Design-Statement:

The housing company WIRO emerged from state-owned GDR companies after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In recent years it has developed into an economic and social pillar for the city of Rostock. A time capsule, framed in a foundation of business and environmental report, documents 30 years of development.

IDEA:

A lot has happened in the 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The development of the rental housing market could have taken many directions. In Rostock, WIRO has succeeded in creating a quality of life for its tenants at affordable prices.

Form:

Inspired by architectural plans and sketches, images grow from the sketchy level to realistic views. “Simple” materials with refined embossing, special colors and uncoated papers give the report story, in addition to the visual, a consistently haptic experience.

Function:

The report is a mixture of an annual report and a chronicle. A publication that is noticed by its presentation. That sends the signal to the target group: ``Look, this is something special`` and confirms this special thing with content.

An oval stamped time capsule fits perfectly into a cutout on the cover of the annual report. A technical challenge and a special composition. The surface design takes up this creative world and tells the story from the origin to the present in pictures and graphics.
